Featured Artist: JON FOX
Jon Fox considers himself to be a Canadian citizen. He is of French mixed descent. Jon’s deep drive to learn of the many tribes and traditions, building awareness for his own place within Canada’s heritage, drew him to art and he taught himself to work with many different kinds of styles and mediums.
Jon has traveled to many parts of Canada and each experience has added to his artistic opportunities. Today he has developed artistic expressions that use many tribal approaches to art. His collection— paintings of the “7 Grandfather Teachings”—has been developed by employing the Haida technique (faces), adding a touch of the Woodlands (feathers) as well as a significant element of a contemporary style (universe – digital painting). He has a passion for painting meaningful works that have the potential of delivering impactful messages and to change lives positively.
Jon has been recognized across the country and internationally. His greatest inspiration is to recognize the impact an individual can experience from his paintings. He wants to share universal life values as they are defined by select First Nation Tribes across North America.
In the near future you can expect a new collection from Jon Fox entitled “7 Environmental Teachings”. This series is designed to help build the awareness of the First Nation people’s role as the caretakers of Mother Earth and how we can all learn from North America’s greatest heritage and traditional people. The First People can teach each one of us to also be great caretakers and live in harmony on Turtle Island.
Jon Fox accepts limited commissions and for the first time ever, he is making his original works available for between 2,000 and 18,000 dollars.
